Last weekend I attended the inaugural Business Mums Network Convention held in Melbourne. And let me tell you, it was a blast!!
I met some amazing women who were more than happy to share their pearls of wisdom, other women who had also traveled a great distance to be there and women who were great fun to be around.
This convention came a great time for me and has renewed my focus and enthusiasm for my own business. Too often I seem to get caught up in the fun and excitement of my client’s businesses and I forget all about my own. Its not very often I get to network in person and so to meet these women.. well I just about wet myself with excitement and nervousness all at once. (Well I didn’t wet myself for those of you who need to know LOL)
I hope to share with you all some of the topics that really resonated with me. Topics I feel we could all benefit from.
Have you attended a seminar for your own personal development lately? If so, what was it and how did it effect the way you do business?

Not yet, but I hope to go to see David Allen in a GTD seminar in London next week. I think it’d be good for me – I’ve read GTD but been procrastinating about putting it into practice and I’m completely disorganised :/
Cheers,
Alastair.
I’ve been to a few conferences and this, the Business Mums Conference, was one of the best.
I got so much out of every presentation I went to as well as meeting some wonderful people, including some who I’ve only ever *met* online
I have taken three main things from this conference that I am implementing and, so far, the momentum is continuing. It was really lovely to meet you Kylie.
Another happy Business Mums Conferencer! I too got so much out of the conference – and having been to many different conferences over the years, I can say it was well worth the time, effort and money to get there. It has had a great effect on my business already, just in my renewed outlook as well as specific things to action.
One of my ‘actions’ is to start blogging – so I thought I’d check out your blog Kylie, which is fantastic – well done! I’ll send you my blog link when I actually have some posts
So, anyone thinking of attending a conference, do your research (ie they’re not all good!) and be open to learning. I found there were a number of things I’d heard before, but it’s good to hear them again and be reminded of their importance.
